With 33 years of experience, Dana is a hard-working, no nonsense, much-respected part of the E.D. The oldest of five, she has the perfect set of skills needed to run the PTMC nursing team. She knows more than most doctors and she’s not afraid to tell them. Dana likes working in the ER because she enjoys taking care of others, especially the ones who fall through the cracks and have nowhere else to go ("2:00PM").

History

Early Life and Background

Dana was born at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, and later volunteered there while she was in high school. ("5:00PM").

Dana suffered from six months of morning sickness while she was pregnant with her second daughter ("7:00AM").

Medical Career

Dana was assaulted by irate patient Doug Driscoll while taking a smoke break in the ambulance bay, which resulted in a broken nose. Dana seemed more bothered by the reversal of her role as a caretaker to that of the patient than by the assault itself, and was reluctant to identify her attacker while her colleagues assessed her injuries and helped get her cleaned up ("3:00PM").
